Stouffville man dead after collision

A Stouffville man, 85, is dead after a collision between a dump truck and a “small” car in the WhitchurchStouffville area on Tuesday, OPP confirm.

Around 2 p.m., emergency crews arrived to Hwy. 48, near Bloomington Rd. where they found the male driver of the car suffering from lifethreatening injuries. He was airlifted to a hospital, but died from his injuries shortly after, Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said.

Roads were closed in the area for several hours.
