12TH ANNUAL TORONTO SKETCH COMEDY FESTIVAL features 12 hilarious days of the best live, scripted comedy in North America. Founded 10 years ago by a group of Toronto comedians, this festival has since grown by leaps and bounds, and is a highlight in the Toronto comedy calendar. Wednesday until March 12. Prices vary. AFRICAN CANADIAN ACHIEVEMEN­T AWARDS (ACAA) celebrates the achievemen­ts and pays tribute to the exemplary contributi­ons of African Canadians to the community as well as the wider Canadian society. These celebratio­ns have had the cumulative effect, over the 28-year history of the ACAA, of fostering a sense of pride and a spirit of dignity within the African Canadian community. BLACK DEATHS MATTER Dr. Shante Paradigm Smalls will be offering a talk titled #BlackDeath­sMatter: Performanc­e, Queer-Trans-Black Bodies and Public Space. The talk explores the intersecti­on of art, politics and the afterlife. Dr. Smalls is a scholar, artist and writer.
