The United Nations recommends that a “reasonable” time limit be set on the length of time that unwanted migrants can be detained.
A March 25 editorial incorrectly said the UN recommends a limit of 90 days. As well, the editorial mistakenly said that Britain limits detention to 28 days.
In fact, a parliamentary committee recommended that limit but the British government has not adopted it.
The Canadian Hearing Society was established in 1940. A March 25 article about the labour dispute at the 77-year-old non-profit organization mistakenly said it was established 40 years ago.
A March 19 Once Upon A City article about Toronto’s burlesque boom mistakenly referred to burlesque performer Alice Cassidy as Cup Cakes Cassidy. In fact, the wellknown performer’s stage name was Cup Cake Cassidy.
