Canadians second in season debut

RIO DE JANEIRO— Canadians Melissa Humana-Paredes and Sarah Pavan fell 2-1 to Brazil in the Rio 4 Stars beach volleyball final on Sunday. Humana-Paredes and Pavan lost 14-21, 21-13,13-15 to Agatha Bednarczuk and Eduarda Santos Lisboa in their first World Tour event of the year. “This is agreat start for us as a pair and we are encouraged even more by the fact that we still have a lot of room to improve,” said Pavan, fifth at the Rio Olympics with Heather Bansley. The Canadian duo split $16,000.
