Justice delayed, not denied

within a reasonable time, June 16 Delaying justice is bad but it is not the same as denying justice. Eating a meal two hours later than usual is a delay (and is bad) but it is not the same as being denied the meal altogether.
Delaying a suspected murderer’s trial is bad and is justice delayed. Letting a suspected murderer go free because of a delay is much worse and is justice denied for the victim and for society.
The people responsible for the delay should be the ones punished. If politicians have not appointed enough judges, or not properly funded prosecutors, then hold the politicians in contempt of court. Jason Fleming, North York
