“When we bought the farmhouse, we were looking for a unique and distinctiv­e getaway from Toronto that was only a short commute from the city,” says the home’s owner, Henri Stalk.

“Its partial renovation at the time of purchase appealed to us, as we could see finishing it to our tastes and expand it to accommodat­e our large family. Using photos obtained from the Scugog Museum we added the porches and entry hall details,” Stalk says.

“The large, screened porch was built to be used almost all year round for quiet family time, parties and receptions. The broad and flat field was sized for a wedding tent or eventually a lap pool. In the early 2000s, the stables were built to support the equestrian activities of our children.

“Windy Hill is true to its name as we enjoy breezes throughout the four seasons,” Stalk adds.

The home is walking distance to the lake and about a five-minute drive to Port Perry and its shopping, restaurant­s and businesses. It is about a 90-minute drive to Toronto.
