Flato Developments contributes $500,000 to Markdale Hospital

-

Hato Developments Inc., which will soon launch Phase Ill of Edgewood Greens in nearby Dundalk, has embarked on an ambitious new community building initiative, in the form of a $500,000 contribution to Markdale Hospital.

`My longstanding belief is we're in the business of not just building homes, but communities. And in order to do that, It's important to support the area in a way that will improve the quality of living for everyone and not just the people who buy homes from us: observes Flato Developments President, Shakir Rehmatullah. "I learned that a long time ago from my father, who was also a builder and it's a philosophy we embrace wherever we build homes?

Mayor Paul McQueen of the Municipality of Grey Highlands, which includes Markdale, says Flato's contribution is really great news for our community. We have a private home builder and developer that is not only investing in our area, but they're clearly committed to the health and well- being of our community?

The contribution will consist of $50k installments over the next 10 years. According to Darlene Lamberti, Coordinator for the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation, Fiato's contribution will enable the hospital to continue to improve and update healthcare services for the community, and keep healthcare close to home.

-These funds will go towards much-needed equipment, including stationary and portable cardiac monitors to help diagnose and monitor heart issues, central monitors that will allow nursing staff to monitor heart health in several patients at once, and new defibrillators for the ER and patient rooms; said Lambert!.

In honour of Fiato's $500,000 commitment, the Markdale Hospital lobby will be named the Flato Developments Inc. Lobby with a plaque to be installed.
