Friends star Jennifer Aniston is coming back to TV and she’s partnering with Reese Witherspoon. The actresses will star in and produce a behind-the-scenes drama about a TV morning show for the Apple streaming service. It’s a reunion for its stars: Witherspoon and Aniston played sisters on an episode of Friends.
Josh Groban will play a straitlaced New York City detective on The Good Cop. The actor-singer will star opposite Tony Danza, who plays his father, a disgraced NYPD officer, in the Netflix comedy drama.
Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie is expected to lend her star power to next week’s peacekeeping summit in Vancouver. Jolie is expected to deliver a keynote address at the event Nov. 15, appearing as a special envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative.
Lin-Manuel Miranda will reprise his role as the title character in the Tony Award-winning smash Broadway hit Hamilton — in Puerto Rico. Hamilton, which won 11 Tonys, a Grammy and the Pulitzer Prize, will come to the hurricane-ravaged island with Miranda in January 2019.
Rihanna, Amal Clooney and Donatella Versace will join Vogue editor Anna Wintour in chairing next year’s star-studded Met Gala, “Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” The annual spring exhibit and the May 7 gala launching it will examine “fashion’s ongoing engagement with the devotional practices and traditions of Catholicism,” combining works of fashion with religious art.
Celebrity chef and entrepreneur Antonio Carluccio has died. He was 80. Carluccio, who was born and raised in Italy, had restaurants in England, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates bearing his name. He also appeared in several television shows and wrote 22 cookbooks.
