Koe takes title, Jones falls short

Calgary’s Kevin Koe maintained his perfect record by winning the Players’ Championship at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, while Jennifer Jones of Winnipeg failed to defend her title on the women’s side. Koe beat Sweden’s Niklas Edin 6-2 in the afternoon, before Jones fell 7-2 to American Jamie Sinclair in the evening. Sinclair’s rink became the first American team to capture a Grand Slam title.
