Canadian Bachelor-branded wines just in time for premiere
Think of the ways that wine is connected to The Bachelor and Bachelorette franchise: The stars nearly always have a glass of the stuff on hand during dates on the ABC reality shows and fans have been known to imbibe as they watch.
Consider the drinking games last season alone: “Quick, take a swig every time Arie Luyendyk, Jr. kisses someone!”
Now, for those who like homogeneity in their lives, you can drink a Bachelorbranded wine while watching The Bachelorette when it debuts May 28.
Bachelor Wines has launched in Ontario. The Canadian-based brand includes a Cabernet Sauvignon dubbed the Final Rose and a Pinot Grigio called One on One, available for $14.95 a bottle at the LCBO. Note that the red is branded as a Bachelor wine, while the white has a Bachelorette logo on the bottle.
“It’s the perfect wine to sip with friends while watching Becca Kufrin, Bachelorette Season 14, sift through her potential bachelors,” a news release says.
The vino comes from Wines That Rock — heretofore known for vintages that celebrate rock ’n’ roll stars — which has partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Warner Horizon Unscripted and Alternative Television, which produces the Bachelor shows.
“Made in Canada for the Canadian markets, these two premium wines speak directly to the excitement and spontaneity of the show, and the incredible passion the viewers have for the series,” says Wines That Rock co-founder Howard Jackowitz. “Rather than importing U.S.-based wines into Canada, we are very excited that we’ve sourced and made the wine locally.”
Still on the fence? There are wine tastings the weekend before the Bachelorette debut: May 26 and 27 in select LCBOs in Burlington, Ancaster, Oshawa, Bowmanville, Stoney Creek and Oakville. See BachelorWines.ca for more information. And watch Kufrin wash away any traces of ex-fiancé Luyendyk beginning May 28 at 8 p.m. on ABC and City TV.
