Lastman’s support for Ford is reassuring

-

It was just wonderful to hear that Toronto’s long-serving, flamboyant former mayor Mega Mel Lastman has endorsed respect-the-taxpayer Doug Ford’s PC’s, exhibiting Lastman’s disdain for the Liberal and NDP (who he warns are trying to buy our votes with our own money not seeming to give a damn.)

Lastman’s declaring that he trusts Ford to make life more affordable for average citizens and restore Ontario to the forefront as the economic powerhouse of Canada was reassuring indeed. Furthermore, Lastman’s calling Ford a straight shooter who tells-it-as-it-is was most refreshing versus the unsustainable everything to everyone, at-any-cost-whatsoever tidal wave of promises from the NDP and Liberals.

I will be celebrating on election night if Ford is victorious in earning a majority, with a cheers to the Liberals deservedly losing party status, and another cheers to Finance Minister Charles Sousa losing his seat.

Kathleen Wynne has mentioned that she knows people don’t like her, to which I would say: it isn’t personal, but rather her policies of “soaring debt, skyrocketing taxes and broken promises” that inevitably sealed her fate.

Oddly, had Sousa adhered to his target of three years of budgets in balance, rather than racking-up tens-of-billions more in debt that the auditor alerted us to just in time and in concert with Ontario now being under a credit-watch, I suspect that the Liberals would have averted the record, crushing defeat that awaits them on Thursday.
