Cho makes return to Queen’s Park

Progressiv­e Conservati­ve MPP Raymond RR Cho will be returning to the Ontario Legislatur­e after winning in Scarboroug­h North.

The race saw Cho defeat the NDP’s Dwayne Morgan, a poet and motivation­al speaker, and Cho’s former colleague on Toronto city councillor, Liberal Chin Lee.

Cho, 81, has been a PC MPP since September 2016, when he won wwo ugh- a Rouge byelection River. in The Scarbor- comanager of that campaign was future party leader Doug Ford. Cho was a councillor for 25 years, yy and represente­d Ward 42 in Scarboroug­h’s northeast corner.

Before the campaign’s NDP surge, Cho’s strongest opponent was expected to be Lee, 65, the veteran Scarboroug­h councillor for Ward 41 who resigned in May to run for the Liberals. Lee had held his ward, containing many neighbourh­oods in what’s ww now Scarboroug­h North, f for nearly 12 years, and served as vice- chair of the Toronto Police Services Board.

Scarboroug­h- born Morgan, 43, founded Up From The Roots RR Entertainm­ent, and has performed with Drake and other stars. He has written several books, and produced albums, concerts and poetry slam events. ee He was inducted into the tt Scarboroug­h Walk of Fame in 2013.

Lee said he might run for council again if he lost.

Also running were Sean Morgan, gg a Libertaria­n, and Green candidate Nicole Peltier.
