Heading downtown for the many events this weekend? Here’s what you need to know

There’s a lot going on this weekend in Toronto, including Pride activities, which means road closures.

Here’s how to avoid getting caught in traffic:

The Church and Wellesley Village will be closed for Pride. Church St. will be fully closed to cars from the north side of Dundas St. E to the south side of Hayden St. Wellesley St. E will also be closed from Yonge St. to Jarvis St. from Friday to Sunday. Roads will close at 10 a.m. Friday and remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday.

The Trans March is happening Friday at 8 p.m., which will close Bloor, Yonge and Carlton Sts. for the duration of the march. Additional­ly, the Dyke March starts at 2 p.m. Saturday, following the same route.

The Pride Parade starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday and will begin at the intersecti­on of Bloor and Church Sts., ending at Yonge-Dundas Square.

The Pride Run will close Queen’s Park Cres. The run will start at Church and Wellesley Sts., before heading west, looping around Queen’s Park, then returning to Church and Wellesley. The run is from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The TD Toronto Jazz Festival is closing Yorkville Ave., from Bellair St. to 101 Yorkville Ave.; Bellair from Yorkville to Cumberland St., and Cumberland St. from Old York Lane to Bellair from midnight Friday until Monday at 6 a.m.

Dundas St. W. is closed from High Park Ave. to Indian Grove starting Saturday at 4 a.m. until Sunday at 7 a.m. for the Junction BIA Summer Solstice.

Eglinton Ave. W. will be closed from Dufferin St. to Ronald Ave. Saturday at 2 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. for Fairbank Summerfest.

Line 3 on the TTC will be closed on Sunday for maintenanc­e.
