Drake/Migos shows pushed back 10 days

- Ben Rayner

The three hometown stops on Drake’s upcoming Aubrey & the Three Migos tour with American trio Migos scheduled for Aug. 10, 11 and 12 at the Scotiabank Arena have been abruptly postponed until Aug. 20, 21 and 22 at the same venue, as promoter Live Nation announced Tuesday evening that a “slight adjustment” was being made to the entire tour itinerary, pushing its start date back by two weeks.

The hotly anticipated double bill, an extended hometown stand by the Toronto hip-hop superstar, will now launch in Aug. 10 at the Sprint Centre in Kansas City.

“In order to deliver the highstandard tour experience our fans expect and deserve, we have made the necessary decision to slightly adjust the beginning of the Aubrey & the Three Migos tour schedule,” Live Nation said in a news release.

Gossip sites were quick to note that the tour’s postponement comes on the heels of Migos member Offset’s arrest in Georgia on four charges — two gun-possession charges, possession of one ounce or less of marijuana and making “an improper lane change” — last Friday. But TMZ reported Tuesday that “a tour source tells us the change in schedule does NOT have to do with Offset’s recent arrest ... the show’s production simply wasn’t ready and the artists want fans to get the full experience.”

Tickets for the originally scheduled shows in Toronto and all other ports of call affected will be honoured at the new dates, in appropriate sequence. Refunds are also available at points of purchase.
