STARGAZING A smooth operation
This week: Mickey Rourke’s blank stare and Lewis Black’s friendly gesture
STAR
Cover: The tabloids have been circling, vulture-like, over Kelly Clarkson’s marriage to Brandon Blackstock for years but the final straw is reportedly the rumours of his cheating … on his first wife, years ago. One of them told TheDirty.com that she and he hadn’t had, y’know, coitus (such a sexy word!), but had been “intimate in other ways” (wore each other’s socks? Picked each other’s noses?). Blackstock responded by tweeting that such rumours “make for great reading on the s--tter”; can confirm. No nudes is good nudes: Ryan Gosling has been approached about a role that includes full frontal nudity — ladies, please stop pretending to be movie producers — but his wife Eva Mendes has put her foot down, right on his junk. Then again, they have kids and a shared household; she probably has her price. Kickstarter away.
LIFE&STYLE
Blame Brigitte Nielsen, who had a daughter in June, for the magazine’s pregnancy speculation swirling around Sandra Bullock, who like ol’ Grey Sonja is 54 years old. Nevertheless, Life&Style now suggests that Bullock — born, I must remind you, in Lyndon Johnson’s first term, when the NBA had nine teams — is preggers for the first time, even if her cover photo’s expression is very much “You believe that? Well, bless your heart.”
OK!
The Duchess of Cambridge is truly a supermom, because she believes “Hugs are very important. That’s what I tell my children.” Well, I'm sure it seemed like a startling idea to folks at the palace.
Gwyneth Paltrow wants to be Julia Roberts’ BFF, and has “taken up knitting and canning because Julia does.” Gwyneth really can do it all, including being kooky and boring at the same time.
