Police make third arrest in biker’s slaying

- PETER EDWARDS STAFF REPORTER

A Montreal man with a history of weapons possession, fraud and possession of false documents has turned himself in to police to face a first-degree murder charge in the slaying of a Mississauga Hells Angel last Monday.

Joseph Pallotta, 38, who was wanted on a Canada-wide murder warrant, gave himself up to Montreal police Sunday.

He was considered armed and dangerous.

He is the third Montreal-area man arrested in the death of Michael (Diaz) DeabaituaSchulde, 32, in broad daylight on March 11. The shooting occurred outside a fitness club in a commercial plaza on Dundas St. near Cawthra Rd. in Mississauga.

Deabaitua-Schulde was a fullpatch member of the Niagara charter of the Hells Angels and was actively involved in debt collection, sources told the Star.

The arrest comes as hundreds of Hells Angels prepare to attend the biker’s Woodbridge funeral, scheduled for Saturday.

All of Ontario’s roughly 200 Hells Angels members are required to attend and Hells Angels charters from across the country must also send members, a biker source told the Star.

Marckens Vilme, 28, of Montreal was also charged with first-degree murder for Deabaitua-Schulde’s death, Peel Region police announced on Thursday.

Vilme has a lengthy criminal record that shows a long-standing association with a Montreal street gang called the Ruffriders, and connections to Quebec Hells Angels.

A third suspect, Brandon Reyes, 24, of Montreal, was charged on Wednesday night with accessory after the fact.
