COVID-19 is now confirmed to have killed more than 100 Scarborough seniors in long-term care, according to publicly released data.

On Tuesday, the Ina Grafton Gage Home near Warden Avenue and Danforth Road said it has had 20 residents die of COVID-19, and there were 45 total cases of the disease confirmed in residents and 35 in staff.

The numbers were ahead of those released Tuesday by the province, which said 15 residents had died in the outbreak at the128-bed home on Bell Estate Road first reported on April 9.

“This is an especially trying time for our families, our team and our residents and these losses are felt deeply by everyone connected to our home,” Deslyn Willock, the home’s executive director, said in a statement.

Michael Garron Hospital in East York has sent additional staff to the home and “we are immensely grateful for their support,” added Willock, who also praised the facility’s neighbours for their response to the outbreak.

The Hellenic Home for the Aged, on Lawrence Avenue at Kennedy Road, reported nine COVID-19 deaths on Monday.

The outbreak, reported on April 10, has 34 total resident cases and 21 staff cases.

At Altamont Care Community in West Rouge, meanwhile, the number of resident deaths reported reached 46, with five of those occurring overnight.

One personal support worker has also died at Altamont, one of a handful of Ontario homes to receive on-site support from the Canadian military.

Seven Oaks, a City of Toronto run nursing home on Ellesmere Road whose outbreak began on March 19, has seen 38 deaths. Two other Scarborough nursing homes, Craiglee and Extendicare Scarborough, were both reported to have outbreaks with fewer than five deaths.
