Markham home under fire again
Police say attack is third on same place in a month
On Tuesday afternoon, a Markham home was targeted by gunfire for the third time in a month.
At 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, York police responded to reports of gunshots at a residence on Solace Road near Markham Road and Major Mackenzie Drive. Officers discovered the home had been struck by multiple bullets but no injuries were reported.
Two similar shootings occurred on Feb. 28 and Mar. 8 at the same home, police said.
Video surveillance for the recent incident showed a light grey SUV parked on a nearby street after circling the area, according to police in a press release Thursday.
A suspect then approached the house on foot and fired gunshots from the road, police said, adding that the suspect then returned to the vehicle and fled. Investigators have released a number of screenshots from security video that appears to show a suspect vehicle and suspect.
In the three reported shootings at this Markham home, police released different suspect descriptions and suspect vehicle descriptions.
Tuesday’s shooting suspect is described as a man between five feet nine inches to six feet one inch tall, wearing a black soccer-style warmup suit with white writing on the left arm and leg, along with a thick white stripe on the right arm and leg. He was wearing black running shoes, a black hat and a black face mask.
Police say the suspect vehicle in this case is a light grey or metallic blue Nissan Rogue with dark-tinted windows and silver-spoked rims.
