Celebrating 35 years of Comeau family gatherings

Canada’s 150th anniversary as the theme for the picnic, and hope to have at least 150 cousins in attendance. The total amount of family members who signed the register was 170, coming from as far away as Vancouver Island, Ontario, Québec, the United States, Mexico and even China. Of special interest, one of the cousins, Sister Sarah Comeau, of Victoria, British Columbia, is celebrating her 60th anniversary as a Catholic nun this year.

Also interesting is three of the Comeau brothers each had six daughters, who grew up sideby-side in the family neighborhood. In 2015, the 18 female cousins decided to start an annual “cousin’s gathering” in the month of September to have a better chance of reminiscing and sharing stories or just catching up with each other’s lives.

It is certainly fair to say that this Comeau family is truly blessed and the bond they share will carry on with their own children and grand-children during the coming years.
