An element of fun was part of the launch of Oversize Matters on Nov. 3 at the AGNS Yarmouth gallery.

Visitors viewed large works by Brian Porter, Dan Earle, Travis Doyle, David Gorman and Andre Haines in the Community Room upstairs.

During the evening, guests were encouraged to don a supplied painter’s shirt and add themselves to a painting that artist Andre Haines started earlier in the evening.

Watching the work of budding painters provided some hilarity, while others sampled appetizers prepared by Chef Warren Parnell, signature cocktails and live music by vocalist Barb Gillis.

Ticket sales raised funds for the Friends of the Yarmouth Art Gallery.

The Friends is a volunteer advisory group that arranges for community programming,

workshops/seminars and events at the gallery. The Oversize Matters launch is one of four Community Culture & Cocktail events that the Friends host annually.
