SURETTE

SURETTE, Georgette Angele, 93, Villa St. Joseph du Lac, Yarmouth went to be with her Lord and savior Monday, November 6, 2017. Born April 18, 1924 in Amirault’s Hill, she was the daughter of the late Apollinaire and Hermine (Leblanc) Bourque. Georgette was a loving mother, a member of St Ambrose Cathedral and a faithful prayer warrior. She was formerly employed at the Lake Lawn Motel. She is survived by her son Glendon (Linda Anderson), Halifax and numerous nieces and nephews. As the last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by her husband Leo Joseph Surette; brothers Simon Paul and Ambrose; sisters Virgina and Cecile; adoptive siblings, Lorette, Florence and Simeon. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. wit h prayers at 8 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. from St Ambrose Co Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. This was the anchor Bunk hauled up, which is now beside the entrance to the Parkers Cove cemetery. Moore says she feels this is quite fitting, since her mom and dad attend this church and see the anchor every Sunday.
