- age 90, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in the Veterans Place, Yarmouth, NS. Born on December 20, 1927 in Yarmouth, NS to the late William “B” & Sadie (Moffat) Nickerson and was the oldest of five children. For 40 years he lived in Florida with his lifetime friend & loving wife Virginia Nickerson (Surette) of 67 years. He was a veteran of the second World War. For many years he worked on cargo ships. He along with his wife Virginia took very good care of their family including their Granddaughters Dawn and Jayme. James is survived by his children, Roger (Jan) Nickerson of South Carolina; Janice (Frank) Quenneville of Ontario; grandchildren; Dawn (Josh) Nickerson-Ramsey of Yarmouth; Jayme (John) Werner-Stanton of Florida; Carli (Ren) Miller of North Carolina; Rob (Ines) Quenneville of Ontario; siblings; Chloe Seely of Yarmouth; Clarence Nickerson of Ontario; sister-in-law; BettyAnn Scoville of Yarmouth; son-in-law; Roger (Betty) Werner of Florida and special nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife Virginia Nickerson; daughters, Bonnie Nickerson, Scottie Gore; sister, Barbara Harding, and brother Stanley Nickerson. Well in the words of our dearly loved Grandpa “Cheerio love!”. A burial service will be scheduled at a later date. Donations in memory of James may be made to a charity of your choice.
