Don Mills to address Yarmouth chamber at AGM

Public opinion/market research expert to speak at March 7 event

A man considered one of Canada’s leading public opinion and market research profession­als will be the guest speaker for this year’s annual general meeting of the Yarmouth and Area Chamber of Commerce.

Don Mills, chairman, CEO and co- founder of Corporate Research Associates, is scheduled to speak at the Yarmouth chamber’s AGM March 7 at the Rodd Grand Hotel.

As an expert in the field of public opinion and market research, Mills has appeared before various boards, commission­s and courts. He appears on radio and television as a guest commentato­r on issues pertaining to public opinion.

Mills was the founding president of the Marketing Research and Intelligen­ce Associatio­n and has served as chairman of the MRIA’s government relations committee.

The head office of Corporate Research Associates is in Halifax.

He was chosen the 2001 business person of the year in Metro Halifax by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, he was named fellow of the Marketing Research and Intelligen­ce Associatio­n of Canada and, in 2009, he received the Bishop’s University Award of Merit.

The Yarmouth chamber has had speakers from a number of different fields speak at its AGM over the years, including Don Bureaux, president of the Nova Scotia Community College, who was the chamber’s guest speaker a year ago, and Laurel Broten, president and CEO of Nova Scotia Business Inc., who addressed the chamber in 2016.

The annual meeting includes a review of the chamber’s past year and a look ahead. Neil Rogers will stay on as president of the Yarmouth chamber.
