NDP Leader visiting Shelburne and Yarmouth counties

NDP Leader Gary Burrill visited Shelburne county on Feb. 12 and Yarmouth County on Feb. 13, where he held meetings with a number of community organizations and business groups.

“No matter where you go in Nova Scotia, the number one issue is the growing health care crisis,” said Burrill, who said he looked forward to hearing directly from people in Shelburne and Yarmouth counties about their community’s priorities and ideas for solving the health care crisis.

Burrill also met with municipal leaders from the Town of Shelburne, Municipality of the District of Barrington, and Town of Yarmouth.

“Our municipalities are facing many challenges. I know municipal leaders have plenty of front-line experience and expertise to offer,” he said prior to his visit. “I’m hoping to hear about the priorities for economic development in the South West region.”
