Buoys of Barrington Art Show opens
More than 40 fishing buoys painted by local residents are now on display at the Barrington Municipal Administrative Center.
The Buoys of Barrington Art Show opened on Feb. 8 and features a collection of buoys painted during several community events last year as part of Canada 150 celebrations.
The buoys feature children’s works of art, local scenes and unique designs.
Along with the 10 giant lobster sculptures painted by local artists, the buoys will remain at the municipal center until Feb. 16.
The art show is open to the general public during regular business hours. Barrington singer/ songwriter Lynne Crowell let her artistic talents shine on the buoy she decorated for the Buoys of Barrington Art Show. Canada 150, Nova Scotia and a welcome to the Municipality of Barrington, the Lobster Capital of Canada are featured on the buoy painted by Shelley L. Nickerson.
