Yarmouth town council motions

The following is a list of some of the motions that Yarmouth town council approved at its March 8 monthly meeting:

• that a subject matter expert from the Department of Natural Resources be invited to meet with Council at a future date to discuss the status of the deer population in southwest Nova Scotia and measures to minimize human and deer interaction;

• that the town undertake two solar panel projects with a cost of approximately $375,000 to be funded from reserves, with future revenues from the sale of electricity being used to “repay” the reserve;

• that the request for $15,000 to assist with the purchase of additional seating and support for concert promotion at the Mariners Centre be accepted contingent on the other municipal units contributing equally to the project.
