Spend tax dollars on streets

I am writing about the condition of the streets in Yarmouth. They are a mess, especially the main drive through streets: Forest Street, Parade Street, Starrs Road and Water Street.

In my opinion, the mayor should have these streets fixed before beauti- fying Main Street. The taxpayers of this town must be proud of the condition of their streets for the tax dollars they pay on their property.

I remember on the Weekender last fall the street conditions were talked about and the mayor said the employees are citizens of the town and when they see potholes they fix them. They must be blind. Maybe the mayor should go for a drive on these streets every day and beat her vehicle on these streets and have expensive repairs to pay for. Maybe something should get done to fix these streets instead of spending money on foolish things like bump-outs and music playing on Main Street.

I am sure the tax dollars could be spent a lot more wisely.
