Peewee girls compete at tournament
YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Scotiabank Western Riptide White Peewee A Girls played in the 4th Annual Spring Thaw tournament in Truro this past weekend.
In the round robin they won two of their three games. The first game was played against the Cape Breton West Islanders and they lost 3-1. Riptide’s goal was scored by Madison Cushing. Isabel Doucette had the assist. The Riptide won their next two games, the first versus the Western Riptide Green team with a 2-0 win. Goals were scored by Marissa Fevens and Rene Melanson. They also played the Colchester Cyclones and won 4-2. Goals were scored by Havanah Perry, Carly Kini, Courtney Fitzgerald and Marissa Fevens. The team faced the Cape Breton West Islanders again in the championship game and lost 2-0. Chloe Surette was goalie for the tournament.
The girls next game will be playing in the South Conference Peewee A Championship versus Metro East Inferno Gold on March 24 at BMO Centre.
