Country music show planned for Tusket

June 17 concert will include four Hall of Famers; proceeds to benefit Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame

For those who like country music, a date to mark on the calendar is June 17, when an afternoon of music will be presented in Tusket, including musicians who are inductees of the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame.

The show will take place in the Père Maurice LeBlanc theatre, part of Tusket’s Par-en-Bas school community centre.

The concert – scheduled for 1 to 4 p. m. on Father’s Day – will be a fundraiser for the Hall of Fame.

The event will feature special performanc­es by:

• Wilfred Saulnier

• Ruth Manning

• Blain Henshaw (Hall of Fame inductee)

• Dave Coggins

The house band for the June 17 concert also has a couple of Nova Scotia County Music Hall of Famers in Paul Moulaison and Gary Greene. The house band also includes Jim McRae Jr., Mike Surette and Paul Fitzpatric­k.

Vina Moses will serve as the show’s master of ceremonies.

Aside from the live music, concertgoe­rs will have a chance to purchase the NSCMHF First Edition Showcase CD featuring performanc­es by Hall of Fame members Vic Mullen, Jo- Ann Newman, Larry Boutilier, Floyd Spicer and Don Haggart. Gary Greene, a Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, will be among the musicians in the house band for a country music concert to be held June 17 in Tusket.

The artists performing in Tusket that day may have CDs of their own for sale, said show organizer Jim McRae Jr., who is an associate board member Paul Moulaison, a Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, is a member of the house band that will take the stage June 17 in Tusket.
