ROACH, Clifford John,

98, Veterans Place, Yarmouth, passed away May 7, 2018. Born in Yarmouth, he was the son to the late William and Harriette (LeBlanc) Roach. Clifford was a veteran of World War II, having received Bar Bomber Command Operationa­l Wings. He was a mid air gunner having flown over enemy territory 28 times. He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying fishing and rabbit hunting. He was a Jack of all trades as one would say, wood carving, pencil drawing, carpentry and plumbing. He is survived by brothers, James, Dartmouth; Patrick, New Glasgow; William, Yarmouth; many nieces and nephews; as well as best friend Jessie. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his brothers, Cecil, Rodney, Richard, Seymore, John, Wilfred and Roderick; sisters, Mary, Marjorie, Winnifred and Lorraine. Cremation has taken place. There was a graveside service Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:00 am from the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Memorial donations may be made to the WAR AMPS Canada. Funeral arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematoriu­m, Yarmouth.
