ROACH, Clif­ford John,

98, Veter­ans Place, Yarmouth, passed away May 7, 2018. Born in Yarmouth, he was the son to the late Wil­liam and Har­ri­ette (LeBlanc) Roach. Clif­ford was a veteran of World War II, hav­ing re­ceived Bar Bomber Com­mand Op­er­a­tional Wings. He was a mid air gun­ner hav­ing flown over en­emy ter­ri­tory 28 times. He was an avid out­doors man, en­joy­ing fish­ing and rab­bit hunt­ing. He was a Jack of all trades as one would say, wood carv­ing, pen­cil draw­ing, car­pen­try and plumbing. He is sur­vived by broth­ers, James, Dart­mouth; Pa­trick, New Glas­gow; Wil­liam, Yarmouth; many nieces and neph­ews; as well as best friend Jessie. Be­sides his par­ents, he was pre­de­ceased by his broth­ers, Ce­cil, Rod­ney, Richard, Sey­more, John, Wil­fred and Rod­er­ick; sis­ters, Mary, Marjorie, Win­nifred and Lor­raine. Cre­ma­tion has taken place. There was a grave­side ser­vice Thurs­day, May 10, 2018 at 10:00 am from the Our Lady of Cal­vary Ceme­tery, Fa­ther Henry Smole­naars of­fi­ci­ated.
