JStrong hockey camp spots still open

- THEVANGUARD.CA

There are still some spaces available in a JStrong Hockey Skills Camp that will be held at the Yarmouth Mariners Centre May 18, 19 and 20.

The camp is for children aged 10-12 and a maximum of 40 kids are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. To register contact Kirby Maillet at 902-749-6046.

Providing the camp free of charge is another way the JStrong Fund is looking to give back to youth in the community. The JStrong Fund was set up in memory of Yarmouth teenager Jadon Robinson who died in a car accident at the age of 17.

The intent of this hockey camp is to have fun. There will be office and on-ice sessions and on the final day the players will be divided into two teams to play a game.

The camp is being run by a volunteer group of young men who were good friends of Jadon’s and who played sports with him over the years. These volunteers have played competitive rep minor hockey, high school hockey and/ or junior hockey.
