Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps 26 Cornwallis celebrates its 75th annual ceremonial review
The 26 Cornwallis Sea Cadets Corps had the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments this past year to their families, friends, local community supporters and invited dignitaries during their 75th annual ceremonial review.
Invited dignitaries included the Premier Stephen McNeil and Navy League of Canada ( Cornwallis Branch ) President Gerry Curry.
Through numerous static displays, the awards ceremony, and an impressive march past and general salute, the Cadets had the opportunity to display the skills and knowledge they have gained during this past year.
Static displays included traditional seamanship skills, sailing, marksmanship, citizenship and leadership training, as well as information on their new Remotely Operated Vehicle project.
A media release from the event says the attention to detail, practice and precision the Cadets have accomplished, was evident during the Corp’s inspection, and the march past and general salute taken by the reviewing party made up of Premier McNeil, Curry, and Lt. ( N) Dustin Enslow, the Corp’s Commanding Officer.
As 2018 is not only the Corp’s 75th anniversary, but also the 100- year anniversary of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps, a special 100- year anniversary flag was presented to the Corp, by Lt. Commander ( Ret’d.) Peter Townsend, as a personal donation from Lt. Commander ( Ret’d.) Kenneth Ilnitski and himself. The flag is proudly on display, at Champlain Hall.
Numerous awards we’re presented during the Annual Ceremonial Review, by the reviewing party and other invited dignitaries representing the Naval League of Canada, Royal Canadian Legion, and the Annapolis Basin Conference Centre.
