Youth running event June 2 in Yarmouth supports kids going to Brigadoon Village
Participants in a youth running event to take place in Yarmouth Saturday, June 2, will have their choice of three distances, with the day’s proceeds directed to Brigadoon Village summer camps in the Annapolis Valley.
Billed as Kids Running for Kids, the Yarmouth event will have participants 18 years of age and under covering one, two or four kilometres.
The event location is Meadowfields Community School on Prospect Street, with registration scheduled for 8 to 8:45 a.m. and the run starting at 9 a.m.
Those who prefer to sign up in advance can do so by dropping off a completed entry form and fee (cash only) to Runner’s Attic on Main Street in Yarmouth.
The registration fee is $10 per child and the first 50 to register will get a shirt.
Pre-school-age children must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian in their event and may only participate in the 1K.
Parental supervision is quired for all participants.
Event regulations say no indi- re- vidual may push, pull or ride upon any object while participating.
There will be water, fruit and prizes at the finish.
Brigadoon is a non-profit recreational facility for children living with a chronic illness, chronic condition or special need.
