Kids Day was held July 8

A successful day of racing took place at the Lake Doucette Motor Speedway on July 8, made all the more fun because it was also Kids Day, when the youngsters get to meet the drivers and check out their vehicles.

There were also some trophies and prizes that exchanged hands between the racers and kids.

The next race day at the track is the Blair Penney Memorial Race Day on Sunday, July 22. The races get underway at 1 p.m.

3rd Steve MacPhee #53 Shay MacPhee picked up his third featured race checkered flag on July 8, which was also Kids Day at the Lake Doucette Motor Speedway.

The Lakeside Smallmouth Bass Club held a tournament on July 7 at Kempt Back Lake that was sponsored by Carl’s Store. Here are the day’s results:

• 1st Place: Ken Sampson, Terry Knox . . . 8.96 lbs

• 2nd Place: Charles Stanley, Dan Stanley 8.61 lbs

• 3rd Place: Nathan Billy Hatfield 8.52 lbs

• 4th Place: Jimmy Graham, James Graham 8.32 lbs

• 5th Place: Conrad Corporon, Steve Corporon 8.24 lbs

• Largest Bass: Charles Stanley, Dan Stanley 2.88 lbs

Twenty-two teams competed in this, the fourth of 11 tournament­s on the 2018 LSBC regular season Tournament Trail. A total of 105 bass totaling 142.98 lbs were weighed and released.

Scott Nickerson and Rob Wells are the leaders in the “Team of the Year” competitio­n with 9 points. Ken Sampson & Terry Knox are in second with 10 points. Least points wins.

The next tournament will be Superbass held at Raynards Lake on July 28 and 29 with a 7 a.m. start time. Smith,
