JStrong Gateways win provincial title
The JStrong Mosquito A Gateways played in 11U Tier 1 Baseball Provincials Sept 7- 9 in Hants North and came home with the provincial championship win.
On Sept. 7, the Yarmouth squad fell short to the Clark’s Harbour Foggies 8-4. Pitchers were Caiden Swindell, Damien Cottreau and Max Gates. Dylan Goudey went 2 for 3 at bats and Liam Surette went 2 for 3 at bats with a home run. Player of the game was Liam Surette.
On Sept. 8 Yarmouth played East Hants Nationals winning by a score of 6-4. Pitchers were Dylan Goudey and Max Gates (win). At bat for Yarmouth Liam Moses went 2 for 2 with a double and Brady Newell went 1 for 2 with a double. Player of the game was Liam Moses.
Later that day Yarmouth got past Porters Lake in a nailbiting 9- 8 final. Yarmouth had come back in the bottom of the sixth inning to win with Caiden Swindell hitting in the winning run. Pitchers were Drew Muise, Nolan Hill, Caiden Swindell and Liam Surette ( win). Hitting for Yarmouth, Bryce Fitzgerald went 2 for 3 with a double and Liam Surette went 2 for 3 as well. Player of the game was Caiden Swindell.
In the semi-finals on Sept. 9 Yarmouth played against the Hants North Jays shutting them down 3-0. Pitching for Yarmouth was Drew Muise (win), Dylan Goudey and Liam Surette. Hitting for Yarmouth, Dylan Goudey went 1 for 2, Bryce Fitzgerald 1 for 2, Liam Surette 2 for 2 and Charlie Gosling 1 for 2. Player of the game was Drew Muise.
Yarmouth won the championship game over the Hantsport Shamrocks by a score of 11-4. Pitching for Yarmouth were Liam Surette (win) and Dylan Goudey. At bat, Liam Surette went 3 for 3 with a double, Dylan Goudey 2 for 3, Bryce Fitzgerald 2 for 3 with a homerun and Drew Muise 1 for 2. Player of the Game was Liam Surette.
