High school hockey re­cap and look ahead

boys’ hockey team held their sea­son home opener on Nov. 2 when they hosted Avon View. It was a score­less first pe­riod with Avon View tak­ing a 3-1 lead in the sec­ond pe­riod and round­ing out their scor­ing to 5-1 in the third pe­riod for the win. Scor­ing for the Vikings dur­ing the game was Jaden Watkins as­sisted by Zach Richard­son. In net for Yar­mouth goalie Tyson Peters made his Vikings and league de­but, with a solid show­ing in net that in­cluded many spec­tac­u­lar saves.

The Clare Loups boys team hosted Cen­tral Kings on Nov. 3. The CK Gators won the game 5-0. It was a score­less first pe­riod. Cen­tral Kings scored three goals in the sec­ond pe­riod and rounded out their scor­ing with two more goals in the third pe­riod. Al­though Clare took the loss, Maxime Hanna was on his game in the net for the home team stop­ping count­less shots.

On Sun­day the West Kings Wolver­ines trav­eled to Yar­mouth to play Par-en-Bas in PEB’s home sea­son opener. West Kings took a 1-0 lead in the first pe­riod and in the sec­ond PEB scored twice to go up 2-1 be­fore West Kings tied the game 2-2. PEB scored twice more for a 4-2 lead af­ter two pe­ri­ods. Par-en-Bas added an­other goal in the third pe­riod and held on for the win as West Kings pulled its goalie for an ex­tra at­tacked in the fi­nal minute. Scor­ing for Par-enBas were Miguel d’Eon (3), Ja­dyn Samms and Zach D’Arcy.

A Nov. 2 game that was to be played be­tween the Mid­dle­ton Mon­archs and Bar­ring­ton Barons is to be resched­uled, along with a Nov. 3 game that was to be played be­tween Mid­dle­ton and Par-en-Bas.

The Par-en-Bas Sharks had a 5-4 win over the West Kings Wolver­ines on Nov. 4.
