BANTAM AA

Wade’s Wire Traps Bantam AA Yarmouth Mariners played one game at home this past weekend. They won 7-0 against the Western Valley Spartans.

Cameron Kerr lead the Wire Traps with 4 points – a hat-trick and one assist. Connor Prouty had 2 goals while Ben LeBlanc and Alex Barr each scored one. Cameron Brown, Jaden Kerr and Owen Fitzgerald each had 2 assists, while singles went to Jory Stewart, Michel Comeau and Alex Barr. Izaac Deveau was in net for the shutout.

This coming weekend the team is on the road for two games against the Truro Bearcats.

BANTAM A

On Saturday, Dec. 1, Nova’s Finest Fisheries hosted a league game against Clare-Digby winning 3-0. Scoring for the Mariners were, Luke MacLeay, Chase Perry and Dalton Sears.

Assistance from, Caleb Long, Chase Perry, Luke MacLeay, Carson D’Eon, Shawn D’Eon and Tyler MacLeod. In net was Tayvon Gabriel.

On Sunday, Dec. 2, Nova’s Finest Fisheries hosted an exhibition game against Clare-Digby, winning 7-3. Scoring for The Mariners were Tyler MacLeod with 2, Riley Hubbard with 3, Carson d’Eon and Drew Goreham, each with 1. Assisting were, Luke MacLeay, Caleb Long, Dylan Hatfield, and Riley Hubbard, Drew Goreham had 2 assists, and Chandler LeBlanc with 4. In net was Braeden Hipson. Scoring for Clare-Digby were Brett Hall, Kaiden Longmire and Avery “Chip” Gunn. Assists went to Noah MacLean, Austin Walker, Nicholas Gaudet and Miguel DeJesus.

BANTAM A GIRLS

The Yarmouth Scotiabank Western Riptide White bantam A girls team played a pair of games over the weekend versus Western Riptide Green.

On Saturday they played at home winning 6-1. Jada Mackinnon and Karli MacDonald each had two goals and two assists. Breanne Deveau had one goal and one assist with the other goal being scored by Ocean Sears. Chloe Swaine and Courtney Fitzgerald each had an assist.

On Sunday they were on the road winning 7-0. Havanah Perry scored two goals, while Chloe Swaine and Carly Kini each had one goal and one assist. The other goals were scored by Madison Cushing, Karli MacDonald and Jada Mackinnon.

Sophie Thimot was in net for both games. Sunday’s game was Sophie’s 8th shutout of the season.

MIDGET C

The Graham Constructi­on Ltd Midget C (Reigh’s) lost 3-2 versus Acadia 2 in a league game. Scoring for Graham Constructi­on were Tyrese Gabriel and Jared Sanford. Assists went to Nick d’Entremont, Chayton Bartlett and Liam Fiander. In nets was Logan Leaman.

A second game was a 4-3 win for Acadia. Scoring for the Yarmouth team were Hunter Muise with 2 and Grace Spinney with 1. Assists went to Dominic Higby with 2 and Ashton Doucette and Grace Spinney each with 1. In nets was Liam Campbell.

PEEWEE AAA

The Yarmouth Chris Scott Constructi­on Mariners picked up 3 of a possible 4 points against the visiting Truro Bearcats during NSMHL action this past weekend.

On Saturday the hometown Yarmouth squad edged Truro 4-2. Jared Pitman paced the attack with 2 goals and 2 assists. Jessica MacKinnon and Koen Shand with the winner, had the other markers. Dawson O’Connell added a pair of assists, with single assists from Dylan d’Entremont and Sam Hope.

It was a bitterswee­t finish on Sunday morning as the visiting Bearcats found the back of the net shorthande­d with only 15 seconds remaining to tie the contest 3-3. Jessica MacKinnon fired home a pair of goals, with Sam Hope adding the other for the hosts. Jordan Apostolofs­ki, Max Darcy, Sawyer Longmire, and Dawson O’Connell picked up assists. Cohen Stoddard made 21 saves between the pipes. Next weekend the Mariners will hit the road for a tournament in Antigonish. They will face Sydney, Antigonish, Cape Breton West, and Strait Richmond during round robin play.

PEEWEE A

The GPK Refrigerat­ion Peewee A Mariners came away with two home ice wins this past weekend, defeating the Western Valley Spartans 3 - 0 on Saturday and the South Shore Lumberjack­s 10 – 1 on Sunday.

Top points earned for the weekend went to Blake Newell with 5 points, Ashton Samms and Drew Muise with 4 points each and Lucas Cottreau and Sean-Phillipe Fernandez with 3 points each.

Brady Saulnier was in net for both games and earned his third league shutout for the season.

PEEWEE A GIRLS

The Western Riptide white peewee A girls were on the road for two games this past weekend. The first game was an 8-0 win against Metro West Force white and the second game was a 4-3 win against Metro West Force blue.

Goal scorers were not included with the submission sent.

ATOM AA

This past weekend the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Atom AA Mariners hosted 3 games against Truro.

On Saturday the Mariners lost 7-0 and then tied 3-3. Marcel Jacquard had 2 goals, Parker Leblanc also added a goal. Assists went to Max Gates, Nixon Ross and Parker Leblanc.

On Sunday the Mariners closed out the 3 games with a 4-0 loss.

Earlier in the week the Mariners defeated the Clare-Digby Ravens on the road Tuesday 4-2. Scoring for the Mariners were Lucas Cottreau, Lucien Doucette, Drew Muise and Blake Newell. Lucas Cottreau assisted on two Mariners goals with Alyre Richardson and Damien Cottreau also earning one assist each.

ATOM B

Pink Star Barro Atom B Mariners played three away games the weekend of Nov. 23-25. In the first game, Lucas Cushing, Andre Hill and Dana Hill scored. Final score was Yarmouth 3 – Western Valley 0.

In Game 2 Parker LeBlanc and Andre Hill scored. The final score was West Hants 6 - Yarmouth 2. In the final game, Lucas Cushing, Brody Goodwin and Dana Hill. Assisted by Parker LeBlanc, Crofton MacAlpine and Jake Sanford. Final score was South Shore 5 – Yarmouth 3.

The Mariners also played on Dec. 2 for a 5-1 win over South Shore. Scoring were Crofton MacAlpine (assisted by Brody Goodwin, Tyler Sutherland); Parker LeBlanc (assisted by Jake Sanford, Lucas Cushing); Andre Hill (assisted by Dana Hill); Lucas Cushing (assisted by Parker LeBlanc, Carter Amiro); Jake Sanford (assisted by Parker LeBlanc, Lucas Cushing).
