ROLLING OUT MORE ROCKS

-

The Aidaen Mae Wellness Room in Yarmouth has also launched a rocks initiative.

Calling it Random Rocks of Kindness, this initiative got underway in early November.

The Aidaen Mae Wellness Room is part of the Tri-County Mental Health and Wellness Centre’s drop-in centre at

101 Water Street (although it eventually hopes to turn its purple room into a purple house).

“I am so excited to announce our most recent initiative – rock painting to mental wellness. Join the Facebook group or comment/message for more information,” Kelly Mae Mitchell – Aidaen’s mom – posted on Facebook.

The Facebook page for the initiative is called: Random Rocks Of Kindness Nova Scotia #RROCKNS.

An explanation on that Facebook page reads:

“In memory of our daughter Aidaen Mae Mitchell, and to promote social acceptance, positivity, and inclusion in our community, we have created The Random Rocks Of Kindness NS initiative. Over the winter months we will work with friends, family, and members of the Aidaen Mae Wellness Room to paint an abundance of rocks that will be hidden within our community in attempt to bring a smile to the ones who finds them.

Please take a photo with the rock you find and leave us a post. We ask the rock then be hid in a new place for someone else to find. We encourage others to do the same and use “#RROKNS on Facebook” on their rocks if they too want to take help increase our reach across communities, provinces, and countries.”
