The Shelburne County Arts Council is once again presenting Musings, an evening of songs, stories, theatre, dance and the visual arts, all by local artists.

Musings will take place on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m., at the Trinity United Church Hall, located on the corner of John and Hammond Streets in Shelburne. Admission is by donation.

This event is produced each November by the Shelburne County Arts Council as a fundraiser for its Peter and Joan Oliver Scholarship, as well as arts-related educational programming in local schools.

This year’s theme is “Salt and Wild,” celebrating Salt and Wild: Shelburne County Anthology, a new book compiling works by 28 different Shelburne County authors. Two of those authors are featured in the program:

• Denise Reashore and Rob Stork will both read excerpts from their respective works published in Salt and Wild: Shelburne County Anthology;

• Kenny Cunningham and

Ed Benham will be performing some of Cunningham’s original songs;

• South Shore Radio Dancers will be performing American Tribal Style Bellydance;

• Rob Buckingham will talk about the creative process that goes into his wrought iron creations;

• Brother and sister duo Nigel and Ingrid D’Eon will sing and play several songs;

• Ingrid D’Eon, Naniya Trevors and Therese Cruz will perform three scenes from Love Lost & Found, a play by Diana Finegold commissioned and presented by Basement Theatre earlier this year;

• Rod Mossman, Kathleen Glauser and Merrie Howe will close out the program with music featuring three-part harmonies layered over a variety of song styles.

Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy local talent, along with a wide selection of desserts and beverages served at intermission.

Copies of Salt and Wild: Shelburne County Anthology will be on sale, and some of the performers will be selling their CDs and artwork at intermission.
