Wellness funds support various community projects

Fifteen projects were on the receiving end when the Yarmouth County Community Health Board presented its wellness funds for this year.

The grants for Yarmouth County totalled $19,559.21.

The money will help support a variety of community projects, including programs for young people, women and seniors.

Other projects have to do with health, cooking, sports or the arts.

Following are the Yarmouth County Community Health Board’s wellness fund recipients for this year, with the organizati­on listed first (project in parenthese­s) and the amount funded to each:

1. Autism Nova Scotia – South West Chapter (Sensory Friendly Program Space and Resource Lending Library), $1,500

2. CNIB (Vision Loss & You Day), $1,050

3. HOPE (Hope for Seniors), $1,734

4. Jeux de l’Acadie – Par-enBas (Jeux de l’Acadie 2020), $1,000
