The HITS Culture

-

Wilson can be found just about everywhere on race day. He greets racers by name as they exit the water, cheers them on somewhere out on the bike course and hugs finishers after they cross the line.

“My hope is that every athlete will feel like part of the hits family and not just a number on our start list,” Wilson says.

It is this attitude that has cultivated a group of devout followers who travel from event to event to support the series while also drawing in new participants. The series has seen impressive growth since its inception in 2011 with many races ref lecting a 30 per cent increase and the Napa race increasing by 100 percent.

As Wilson and Struzzieri plan for 2014 and beyond, they look forward to adding some new events while nurturing those already on their calendar. One thing is for sure – new or old, every venue will be filled with the positive energy and homegrown love that has come to define the hits Triathlon Series.
