Elite Men

Kyle Jones De­spite a rough year that in­cluded crashes in Auck­land and San Diego, Jones was sec­ond over­all at the Ed­mon­ton World Cup and fin­ished 22nd in the wts rank­ing.

Elite Women

Kirsten Sweet­land Af­ter many years of in­juries, Sweet­land re­turned to itu rac­ing in style with a podium fin­ish in Ed­mon­ton and a sixth in Kitzbuhel and a fifth at the Palamos World Cup.

U23 Men

Alexan­der Hin­ton Hin­ton had a tough year with a crash in Bar­ba­dos, where he fin­ished fifth and broke his nose in Tisza­u­j­varos, but still ral­lied to fin­ish 13th for Canada’s top fin­ish at the world cham­pi­onships.

Amelie Kretz How does our Triath­lete of the Year not win our U23 ti­tle? Kretz won the na­tional cham­pi­onship, led a Cana­dian podium sweep in Ed­mon­ton, placed third at the worlds, sec­ond in Mazat­lan, Mex­ico and won in Bridgetown, Bar­bo­dos. In recog­ni­tion of how close things were for our over­all triath­lete of the year award, we fig­ured we’d give Kretz the nod here.

Age Group Men

Ray­mond Col­liver The age­less Col­liver won the 80– 84 world ti­tle in Lon­don this year. Nom­i­nees: Ben Sayles

Age Group Women

Kristin Marchant

In ad­di­tion to win­ning the Toronto Triathlon Fes­ti­val over­all, Marchant won the 20– 24 age group in Lon­don.
