Kyle Jones Despite a rough year that included crashes in Auckland and San Diego, Jones was second overall at the Edmonton World Cup and finished 22nd in the wts ranking.

Elite Women

Kirsten Sweetland After many years of injuries, Sweetland returned to itu racing in style with a podium finish in Edmonton and a sixth in Kitzbuhel and a fifth at the Palamos World Cup.

U23 Men

Alexander Hinton Hinton had a tough year with a crash in Barbados, where he finished fifth and broke his nose in Tiszaujvaros, but still rallied to finish 13th for Canada’s top finish at the world championships.

Amelie Kretz How does our Triathlete of the Year not win our U23 title? Kretz won the national championship, led a Canadian podium sweep in Edmonton, placed third at the worlds, second in Mazatlan, Mexico and won in Bridgetown, Barbodos. In recognition of how close things were for our overall triathlete of the year award, we figured we’d give Kretz the nod here.

Raymond Colliver The ageless Colliver won the 80– 84 world title in London this year. Nominees: Ben Sayles

Kristin Marchant

In addition to winning the Toronto Triathlon Festival overall, Marchant won the 20– 24 age group in London.
