Subaru Epic Dartmouth Triathlon

-

July 2–3 One of the busiest triathlon festivals on the Canadian race calendar, N.S.’S Epic Dartmouth used to offer the only nonironman full-distance triathlon in the country. While that race has been discontinued, the multisport weekend has become bigger and better than ever with multiple run and swim races taking place in addition to the very popular kids triathlon and try-a-tri event.

In honour of Canada’s 150th birthday this summer, Epic Dartmouth has introduced a three-day, four-race Epic Canadian Run for Canada. The popular Epic swim series has continued to grow in size each year, proving that open water swim events are gaining popularity in the multisport community.

Epic Dartmouth is a great event for the whole family and offers a great way to celebrate Canada Day this year.

Rev3 St. Andrews

July 9 Rev3 has taken over this event that had been part of the Challenge Family Series. It remains Eastern Canada’s largest triathlon festival and a destination race for international triathletes.

Charming St. Andrews by-the-sea, N.B. boasts stunning Maritime scenery by the Bay of Fundy, which the course takes full advantage of. The salt-water swim takes place in Katy’s Cove. The bike course starts, and finishes, in the beautiful Algonquin Resort and passes by historic sights such as St. Croix Island, while running primarily on closed-down highways in the area. Athletes enjoy one of the most scenic run courses in the sport with views of the islands of Passamaquoddy Bay, the lovely downtown St. Andrews and through the world-class Kingsbrae Garden. There are plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy around race weekend. The halfrev is the marquee event of the weekend, but there are also Sprintrev and Kids Splash and Dash races.

Trilobster Triathlon

July 17 P.E.I.’S Trilobster Triathlon, held in beautiful Summerside, offers world qualifier spots for its Olympic- and sprint-distance races and takes place alongside the Lobster Festival, making it a worthy trip to the Maritimes for any triathlete. A major draw to this event is that races are offered in both draft-legal and non-drafting formats. The race gives you the chance to enjoy the seaside scenery on a fast and flat course that includes a run on Summerside’s beautiful boardwalk. You can expect light rain or mist on race day, which helps make for perfect race temperatures at this midsummer, July event.
