Léon Delorme Farm, one of the major employers in Alfred-Plantagenet Township, will get some help from the counties in reducing part of its operating cost. The half-load rule for truck traffic on county roads during spring thaw is forcing the company to use twice as many trucks to ship out the same amount of potatoes from its packaging plant in Curran. The counties will look at revising the spring traffic bylaw so that the company is not forced to consider cost-cutting measures during the spring.
