Hawks in flight

As the first month of the regular season in the Canadian Central Hockey League draws close to the end, the Hawkesbury Hawks have three wins at their wingtips and two losses, with one game pushed off for later rescheduli­ng.

The first week of September saw the Hawks over in Ottawa at the Bell Sensplex on the ice at the Canadian Tire Arena for their opening games of the season Sept. 2 against Carleton Place and then on Sept. 3 versus Smith Falls. Carleton Place edged out a 2-1 win against Hawkesbury but the Hawks pulled the plug 4-1 the following day on Smith Falls.

September 4 it was back to the Sensplex, this time at the Mattamy Arena for a match against Pembroke. The host team doubled up the score 8-4 against Hawkesbury.

For their first home game the Hawks put the ice on Cornwall 4-1 at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex. The following day

Les Hawks ont décroché trois victoires et encaissé deux défaites depuis le début de la saison.
