Hawks in flight

As the first month of the re­gu­lar sea­son in the Ca­na­dian Cen­tral Ho­ckey League draws close to the end, the Haw­kes­bu­ry Hawks have three wins at their wing­tips and two losses, with one game pu­shed off for la­ter res­che­du­ling.

The first week of Sep­tem­ber saw the Hawks over in Ot­ta­wa at the Bell Sens­plex on the ice at the Ca­na­dian Tire Are­na for their ope­ning games of the sea­son Sept. 2 against Car­le­ton Place and then on Sept. 3 ver­sus Smith Falls. Car­le­ton Place ed­ged out a 2-1 win against Haw­kes­bu­ry but the Hawks pul­led the plug 4-1 the fol­lo­wing day on Smith Falls.

Sep­tem­ber 4 it was back to the Sens­plex, this time at the Mat­ta­my Are­na for a match against Pem­broke. The host team dou­bled up the score 8-4 against Haw­kes­bu­ry.

For their first home game the Hawks put the ice on Corn­wall 4-1 at the Ro­bert Hart­ley Sports Com­plex. The fol­lo­wing day
