Cougars suffer two weekend defeats

The Vankleek Hill Cougars did not have a good time over the mid-January weekend. They lost 5-2 on their home ice to the North Dundas Rockets on Saturday and then Sunday on the road 7-3 to the Gatineau Hull-Volant.

Scoring for the Cougars on Saturday were Ryan Allen and Charles Doyon. Assisting on the goal-scoring was Nicolas Castonguay. Sébastien Moreau occupied the Cougars net.

Single goals for the Rockets came from Justin Lefebvre, Shawn Simms, Bradley Stitt, Bryden van Kessel, and Jack van Kessel. Assisting on the goals were Lefebvre, Simms, Brodie Barkley, Nick Sourges, and Bryden van Kessel.

Sunday against Gatineau Shayne Allen, Trystan Lavoie, and Riley Sauvé scored for Vankleek Hill. Assisting were Ryan Allen, Nicolas Castonguay, Kevin Doyle, and Xavier Lemoine. Dominik Turcotte served as goalie. Denis Gratton punched in two goals for Gatineau with single points tallied by teammates Marc-Olivier Lafrenière, Guillaume Poirier, Charles StDenis, Joel Tremblay, and Pascal Vachon. Goal assists came from Vachon, Ryan Abraham, Martin Arnold, Alexandre Gravel, Jérémie Perreault, and Roy Mattias. Ian Girard guarded the Gatineau goal.
