VANKLEEK HILL COUGARS SPLIT THEIR NCJHL WEEKEND GAMES

The Vankleek Hill Cougars split their latest round of weekend games with one win and one loss.

The Cougars crowned the Bytown Royals 8-2 on February 8 with Shayne Allen and Nikolas Ayotte both punching in a pair of goals for Vankleek Hill. Scoring singles for the Cougars were Jonathan Lacroix, Trystan Lavoie, Jonathan Leblanc, and Zacharie Leblanc. Assisting on the goals were Lavoie, both of the Leblancs, Ryan Allen, Nicolas Castonguay, Tyler Dopelhamer, Vincent Huneault, Keean McEachern, and Zakary Phaneuf. Alexandre Labrèche guarded the net.

Scoring for the Royals were Jonathan Cauchon and Luigi Peloso, with goal assists coming from Martin Carrière and Alexandre Dionne. Tye Agardy and Danik Gervais shared goal-keeping duty.

Goals for Vankleek Hill against SaintIsido­re during the February 9 game came from Samuel Lacroix and Jonathan Lacroix. Frederick Durocher and Alexander Labrèche shared net duty.

Saturday night was hat trick time for St-Isidore’s Jakob Brunette. Kevin Howson and Patrick Ranger each popped in a pair of goals for the team with Jeremy Arbour finishing the score with a single. Assists on the goals came from Brunette, Howson, Zackary Bougie, Jérémie Bourgon, Philippe Burden, Kalvin Cormier, Frédérik Laflèche, and Sebastien Roy. Sebastien Roy guarded the net.

On the Cougars’ schedule are February 12 in St-Isidore, February 15 at home against Morrisburg, February 16 in St-Isidore, and February 17 and 18 against South Grenville.
