Carolyn Mary (Larkin) Wolfe

Carolyn Mary (Larkin) Wolfe, Truro, passed away peacefully on Aug. 23, 2016 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre with family by her side.

Born Jan. 5, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Conrad) and Lester Larkin.

She is survived by her husband Allan, sons Chris (Estelle) Truro and Shawn (Shannon), Valley, grandchild­ren Colby, Baley, Ashlin, Jennessa and Ethan, brothers David (Anita), Bridgewate­r, Michael, St. John’s and Gregory, Dartmouth.

Carolyn was adopted as a baby and is survived by half-brothers, Gary (Christa), Germany, Joey, Dartmouth and William (Cheryl), Lower Sackville, half-sisters Bonnie, Lower Sackville and Michelle, Truro.

Carolyn was pre-deceased by birth-mother Eliza “Blanche” (Collins) Deveaux, half-brothers Louis (Lillian), Philip (three months) and half-sister Patricia (Ralph) Bahan.

Carolyn started working at a young age at the Halifax Infirmary and subsequent­ly with Berlitz School of Languages teaching English in Northern Quebec and Montreal. She was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi (Truro) sorority and the Truro Gyro Club. She was a Girl Guide and later a cub leader in Halifax and Truro for over 10 years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmothe­r and made a point of attending their events and accomplish­ments whenever possible.

Her grandchild­ren were her pride and joy and she loved telling them her many exciting life stories and instilled fun and imaginatio­n in their lives.

After husband Allan retired, they enjoyed several years camping in Eastern Canada and U.S. and winters in Florida.

Cremation has taken place and at Carolyn’s request there will be no visitation or funeral as family and friends visited her during her lengthy stay in hospital.
