Cobequid team competing in national championship
Team Donnachie representing Nova Scotia at senior triples event
They will be among 60 of the top bowlers in the country, representing their provinces in the event.
On the women’s side, bowlers such as former national singles champions Jean Roney of Saskatchewan and Elaine Jones of Manitoba will represent their provinces.
The host province will be represented by former Canadian senior triples champions, Team Debbie Foster in the women’s event.
For the men, Pat Beggs, Walter Steeves and Jeff Mulherin return to Halifax, representing New Brunswick after winning the title at the 2010 event in Dartmouth.
Competition takes place at the Wanderers Lawn Bowls Club for the men’s championship and the Dartmouth Lawn Bowls Club for the women’s championship.
Games are daily with games starting at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Wanderers while Dartmouth’s matches take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The medal rounds will take place on Wednesday morning at both clubs with closing ceremonies to take place at Dartmouth in the afternoon.
Admission is free for the public.
