Sandeson lawyer seeking warrant documents

-

The lawyer for a Dalhousie University student charged with first-degree murder in the death of another student was in court Thursday to apply for search warrants in the ongoing case.

William Sandeson’s defence attorney is seeking warrant documents that have been sealed by the Crown.

Sandeson, originally from Lower Truro, was charged with the murder of Taylor Samson on Aug. 20, 2015, and ordered to stand trial following a preliminary hearing in Halifax.

Samson, a fellow Dalhousie University student, was last seen days earlier but his body has not been found.

All of the preliminary trial and bail evidence before the court is protected by a routine publication ban.

Police have said the two men knew each other, but have not released details about how they believe Samson was killed.

Police spent just over a week searching property owned by the Sandeson family in Lower Truro. After a few days of searching, police said they found items they believed were connected to the case, however the nature of the items has not been disclosed.
